I have to go back to Season 18 to even find a DII team in the Finals, and the was King Drive Ballers.

As far as I can tell, the only other time that a non-NBBA team has won the Cup was way back in Season 1, when only one NBBA team even made it to the quarterfinals and the championship game was D.II vs D.IV (the D.II team won). After that, there was a D.IV team in the Finals in Season 3, a D.III team in Season 5, and a D.II team in Seasons 13 and 18.

So, you are not technically the first D.II team to win, but Season 1 was obviously a very different animal. You are also only the seventh team from outside of the NBBA to make the Finals. Ever.

I'd say this was a monstrously impressive achievement.

Congratulations!

Can anyone still explain to me how I lost that game? The only thing I can figure is that it was a disaster to switch Bowens to SF and then run Iso on top of it rather than LI. I still am not sure how that leads to a loss with three GDP's going my way though.

Mammals - I'm really curious as to you roster. Do you understand what happened to let your roster of 60k players take down Bowens, Bello, and Otto Reedy, when days earlier Eugene Register Guard couldn't manage the same feat?

Well there go my playoff hopes as well, although I suppose with my current gameshape the way it is I had no hope of competing at all any way.

Time to regroup. My finances have really been strained as of late, and losing out on that extra 300k didn't help.

i don't want to disparage the Iquanas, but facing you in the playoffs was terrifying me. this is a game of matchups, and your squad for whatever reason -- probably because they simply were very good -- just dominated my squad. i was thinking of you as the second edition of Upsyndrome, who i wouldn't have beaten in a thousand matches. nobody was more surprised by your loss to the Mammals than i was, and other teams' wins over your squad this season while i just simply floundered . . . well, i've long thought as long as this game surprises me, i will continue to play.

btw, even without Bello, you have an awesome core.

If you decide to rebuild, I would encourage you to do so through the draft (invest 40k/week and acquire 2-3 NT prospects). This is the method I have used to rebuild my team -- past and present, which has proven to be very successful. I would like to see more NBBA managers use this method as it will be beneficial for both club and country.

Additionally, for managers seeking advise in terms of training USNT prospects: please feel free to contact me via BB-Mail.

I will be doing a much smaller scale rebuild than you are. But I am very aware of your strategy and will always keep you in mind should I need someone to bounce ideas off of.

Yeah to be honest I was surprised when I pulled out that win against you with less effort with an injured Spurlock. That maay have been one of the big reasons I felt so confident going into the agme against the Mammals. In the end there are a few key things that I think went wrong and prevented me from getting my cup this season, but I definitely learned a lot. One of the main lessons is that my seven man squad that was so effective in getting me here is not going to allow me to be competitive at this level.

I feel pretty secure in my ability to train players...however, I'd be interested in learning how to sell $2 million players for $5.1 mil. When you start that class, let me know! I'll be the first to sign up!
