I know you were jfarb's assistant last year and scouted opponents tactics and players. Are you going to continue to do this if you are elected NT coach or will you give this job to someone else?

No I would certainly hand this off to someone else. I'd be taking applicants for the job. Jason would be a good candidate since he has the enthusiasm but not the experience for the job, and this would certainly help.

OR, if we want a truly seemless transition, you can just stay on in role as assistant coach :-)

To all Candidates:

One of the biggest issues I've seen is trying to keep potential NT players on US soil. The best example I can give is last year right after I started, there were two U21 quality players in my draft, my own top draftee and another player Norman Sloane.

He got trained for only 4 or 5 weeks last year after being bought by a Finnish team and is now doing nothing but sitting there.

My question is, do you have any plans on how to get the USA community more involved in keeping our young prospects on home soil?

I referenced this in an earlier answer here: (191253.114) (last paragraph). Yes it's a big problem that our talent is being shipped off to Siberia and being shackled in a cage with no room for improvement. We need to work with the American managers and talk to them and give them different options with what to do with their players. If they're becoming too expensive for their team, I can give them training advice for getting useful, but not salary-spiking, pops. If they absolutely have to sell them, I would tell them to let me know so I can broadcast it on the offsite so lots of interested American teams can get an opportunity to grab him off the TL and keep training him correctly. We can't let these prospects fly under the radar and out of the NT.

To namssor and Jason- we both know you are qualified, and that you could both handle this job well. My question is besides experience at the NT level or in federations where everyone knows everything about BB, what quality sets you apart from the other? Please no mudslinging. And also, what role would you put the other candidate in should you win?

Individually- Namssor: You have used box and 1 in league games occasionally. Would this be an option ahead of a zone in gameplanning? (which no one answered right. It's the weekends, so that the GS update takes place and you can assess your options. Most would pick Medrano in 9 GS over Bronson in 7 GS. GS is critical at this level)

Jason- What countries do the managers in your "network" hail from, and how involved would they be in gameplanning? Secondly, would gameplanning take place in your little federation forums where only high-profile managers can see, or on the offsite so people can input? Lastly, please stop calling him Joel. We get it. You know his first name. People don't know his name is actually Joel, so it may seem confusing to some.

My passion for the game, competitie drive set me apart. That's fueled me to make it to the League finals in every season I have played. I would run the NT the same way. Passion, intensitity, and being prepared. I have climbed the ranks in BB in my time in this game, as fast, or faster than anyone else. I hope to have similar success as the NT coach.

My Private League has 105 members currently, with roughly 75% American coaches, and the rest from all over the world. No, I would not be discussing tactics or game planning of any kind in the Federation. That is what the offsite forum is for.

Never knew calling a guy by their name was a bad thing. I am sure Joel doesn't mind :-)

Man, just think. If Buckeye could rally EVERY D5 manager, or close to it, he would win in a landslide!

So, I always ask the same question, but I'll put a slightly different spin on it this time.

It's the worlds. Getting into the semifinals requires us to win the last game. With a normal it's 55/45 in our favor. With a TIE it's Y/(100-Y), with Y<50.

What is the largest Y such that you'd rather normal?

I think this largely depends on on what our goals are, and who our possible opponent will be in the next round. I would kind of need more detail to give a clearer answers. However, if the goal is simply to get the semis, then obviouls you normal. If we are in this for bigger aspirations, than Again, based on the the possible opponent in the next round would determine this answer. If its two big powers, and you want any chance at all to win, then a Tie and the risk that comes with it woud be the way to go. However, its two teams fighting in the other bracket that we match up with, have poor game shape, etc, a Normal would be appropriate to get there, and still have a legit chance to win that next game.

So in a normal scenario, the largest Y would be 49, but other variables could change that. Studying the offsite forum the way I have, it looks like we have a great system of tacitcal advisors. This would be one of those situations I would want to really gain as much information as possible to know what the risks/rewards really are. I think if its one of those times that there is a collective feeling of hey, we got this far, let's go for the Gold! Then you role the dice and go with the Tie and hope your tactics get the job done.

That's actually pretty disturbing because that probably would be a HUGE blow to our slowly improving NT. Buckeye seems like a good guy(not really he is an Ohio St. guy) but he's unqualified. Jason and Namssor or the only two guys running that can improve the NT. I know that D.V and some D.IV managers think they're making a statement by voting for the "little guy" but actually....

Check the Suggestions they are important
