So how many more possessions will two levels of ID get you?
Also, as a believe Manon said, SB is also a form of defense and redirects shots. I also believe that it applies pressure as the shot is released, so it can make the shooter less accurate. There's a study going on about it right now. I would like to see the effect of decent SB on the opponents pp100.

Yeah, working on Guards right now... I figure once I get to D. III and can manage finances and have vets.etc to keep me competitive in D.III I could spend the time on what I call "The Ben Wallace Project"

WOW! I've been in this game since season 8 and had no clue about SB at all! Now all my thoughts about the worthiness of this skill really changed. Thanks a lot for this post and 1 ball from me for teaching me something new in the game after so many seasons

I'm not sarcastic at all! That's what I really meant!

Just mentioned that even after so much time there are still things to learn about the game, which is great!

i love this thread..

the probability of SB being a salary-efficient skill is the same as the probability of Low Post working better than Look Inside..
i hope i stay long enough to see the first guy training SB to 20..

This just made my life complete *sniffle* :)

Since I see this thread is coming back, I would like to voice my opinion once again. There is no possible way that anyone can say that SB isn't worth it if you have never actually taken the time to train it. I find it really hard to believe that the BB's would create a skill that has no affect on the game, and then lie to us by saying it is worth training. If they did this, I'm not so sure what to think about this game anymore...

It also is not fair to say that SB is too expensive to train. To bring up a point I believe I may have stated when I first started this thread, if you trained a Center who has triple 14's in the big man primaries, a 6 in SB, and 1's in every other skill that big's salary would be about 65k.

Now you take 2 pops from each of the primaries and add them to SB, to make your trainee a quadruple 12 player. This player still has atrocious in every other skill. The salary of this player would be about 44k.

20k a week is a big difference, and could save a team a lot of money. In the end, I don't think SB is a special skill or anything but it's a skill just like any other skill. I honestly do not believe there is a skill in BB that is not important.

Now we need someone to do his because the question is now, are those 6 pops in Sb worth the 2 pop loss in IS/ID/REB?
