you led maybe with at least 20p after 3 quarters? Then they will be substituted if you have others in the match squad...

Even choosing strictly follow depth chart, if you are winning by more than 20 points at the last quarter(you won by 40), your trainer changes the starters, to avoid them from injuries.

You had 10 players dressed. If you are up by over 20 points in the 4th quarter, the game engine will try to get every starter out of the game, regardless of how you have filled in the depth chart. Confusing, I know, but that's how it seems to work.

If you had only dressed 8 players, there would have been no one available to sub in for A and B, so they would have stayed in the game and played all 48 minutes (unless they fouled out or were injured).

Why should I know that?

I dressed more players than needed because last time two of my guys almost fouled out - but dressing sb does not necessarily mean he is going to play.

Why is there even the option to let them play + follow the chart? That really makes me upset because I lose precious minutes I cant make up this week. Thats like a punishment, really kills my motivation...

It is a challenge. But sometimes too much is not useful - for me this game is just a recreational pastime, studying all the rules, exceptions and other stuff is not part of the game for me...

Sure its challenging and I like that aspect too - but due to the long-term orientation of the game such mistakes cant be made up in the future, thats why I find this so frustrating.
