There's a big difference from shooting a shot from 22 feet in the heat of a game and a foul shot from 15 feet while no one is in your face.

I put some thought into this when I saw a player on the transfer list recently with proficient jump shot, strong jump range, and atrocious FT. He can only shoot well while being guarded. ;)

Since this game is modeled after hattrick, I defer to the hattrick model. You can have a divine forward with disastrous set pieces...

yeah, shooting freethrows is way easier... therfore jump shot trianing should train FT as well or Hum Shot and Jump range shold influence Freethrowshooting, everything else isn't realistic (seriously, do you know any awesome freethrwoshooters who aren't able to shoot the fieldgoal well too?)

They aren't really related skills, other than the fact the the ball is hurled at the hoop for both, they are rather dissimilar.

come on? do you play basketball yourself? If you train jumpshots you will get better shooting freethrows, for sure. Jump shots aren't always with the defense right in your face, from time to time you get open, that's the same with training jumpshots, you just shoot.

Name a player who's a great 3pointshooter and is terrible shooting freethrows, let's say more than 35% 3pt and less than 60% FT.

What if you shoot your FT underhanded?

Perhaps FT shooting should harm JS and JR? You bounce the ball twice, cross yourself, look at the basket, take a deep breath, exhale, lick your lips, and then shoot.

Huh? Other than Rick Barry (would shoot underhanded), a free throw is pretty much a jump shot, isn't it?

Granted, you're not being guarded by another player and there are crazy fans behind the basketball waving giant french fries at Grant Hill, its still fundamentally a jump shot.

Just seems that if inside shot is going to train stuff like rebounding and inside defense, then you'd think there would be some spill over from training jump shot into free throw shooting.

You don't have to jump, because there isn't a man with his hand in your face that you're trying to get above/around. But the montion and concept is almost exactly the same.

And some players do jump (a little bit) and that's what causes them to cross the foul line and cause a violation.
