jump shot and jump range work together.

the shot says something about the skill in shooting, the range says something about the skill in adjusting to distance.

examples:
a good jumpshot + bad range: he will score many short shots, but will fail more and more shots as he increases his distance from the ring.

a bad shot with a good range: he will shoot badly, the good part is, he won't shoot even worse if he's farther away from the ring.

good and good: he shoots good, and he still shoots good when he's further away, a little less good, but still good enough.

bad and bad: he shoots bad from up close, but even worse if he's further away.


in other words: the higher the range skill is, the less influence he will get on his jumpshot with increasing distance. The influence on the shot when increasing distance is always negative .
