you have to also look at what defensive tactic the opponent is playing. There are certain defenses that are effective against certain offenses and vice versa. The trick is, you wont know 100% sure what your opponent is going to choose. I cant give specific exampls because I'm kinda new to this so I wouldnt trust my judgement but I think that a 1-3-1 zone is effective against a run and gun but not completely sure. Then your player's ratings come into affect. If there's a centre with atrocious inside def, then a 2-3 zone would become limited. I'm pretty sure about this.
