Agreed.

Two more examples:
In this game my advantage was probably a litte bit too strong (15024949)
whereas
In this game the gap of two skill levels was hardly noticable (15024960)

rgds.

we made the new rebounding formula more a function of individual matchups, looking just at the team ratings is a bit crude. Look at who specifically got all the rebounds in those games and who they were boxing out against.

With this in mind, how do you suggest we scout our opponents? We can't possibly know the rebounding skills of their players, so how can we gauge whether or not our players can stack up against theirs on the boards?

Look at two things, both the team overall rebounding rating, its not useless... but second order I would look at the opponents starting players and see who gets more rebounds, and assume that they are the stronger rebounders, and think about setting your lineup in a way to minimize that difference.

but in zone there are no individual match ups

so how does the formula work then

You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, Know when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your money when youre sittin at the table. Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done.

In the real life basketball games I played, there was always a guy jumping on my back to try to get the rebound, even when we played in a zone.

The second part only works if I already know who my opponent will play at SF (for example).

Oh, and my PG had 9 rebounds in my last league game, so should my opponent be looking at playing a backup C at PG to counter this?

true but in real life it can be 5 different players on 5 straight possessions. you don't match up against the same player every time.

"individual matchups"

Well... if individual matchups are that important... lets have a look at the PF matchup of yesterdays PL.Match: (15024960). M. Coch has a rebskill of 12, his counterpart has a rebskill of 6. Does the result then make any sense?

What i dislike of the new system of rebound is that playing in your court it helps a lot to the rebound in my opinion too much, its really hard to win the rebound when you go out of your court

but and I'm sure about it, the new GE has given a bonus if you play outside, the outside tactic is winning for the first time in the BB hystory, imho of course ;)
