1) 48min is enough for 100% training

2) you should keep your arena full and maximise your income, by increasing/decreasing prices and possibly building it bigger if you have high prices and sell it out still

Looked for a thread where this question fit:

I am cruising into the playoffs with the #1 seed but I am not selling out my arena (99%). Can I afford to jack up ticket prices for next month, knowing that part of those games will be playoff games? I mean, will I basically sell out no matter what?

The playoffs attract more audience. I am not able to tell how much more, but you could maybe raise them a little bit.

Actually this is true, but not as true as it looks like here. ;)

Let me explain:

PO games do not draw more fans then regular games. However, the ranking of your opponent is taken into account when the number of fans is calculated, and because in the POs you play the top seeded teams, you get more fans than the average of all league games.

As an example: let's say you happened to play the top 1 team in your last league game, and now your first PO game is against the No 3 ranked, then you will have had more spectators in your league game (given all other factors are the same!!)
The opposite also holds true.

Winning or losing your last game however is a large factor, so here is an other example:
let's say you are the No2 and lost to the number 3 your last league game, and you play the same team, who remained in the No3 rank, in your first PO game, then chances are prety high your PO game will get less spectators.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

I got absolutely CRUSHED in my attendance numbers by attempting to increase my prices. I'm coming off a 1 loss season (my loss was in week 2 or 3 when I was in the cup) and mounties was coming off a 5 game winning streak.

12/1/2009 mounties24 3319 697 143 6 4165 Quarterfinal
11/24/2009 Priceless 7500 949 177 8 8634

50% capacity.. what a joke. Priceless was the #8 team in my division, mounties24 was the #4 team.

I don't see why you might be upset about it, or call it a joke.

As far as I remember I clearly stated that PO games are no diffrent then league games as far as attendance is concerned, so yes, if you increase prices, you can expect a drop in attendance. Fans are not willing to pay more for PO games then for league games...

You could have expected more fans (but just a little) against a No4 seed compared to playing a No8 seed, but ofcourse ONLY if you don't change your ticket prices...

You mention that PO games are no different but from my last 2 games (last league game and then the quarterfinal game) I am led to believe in the contrary. I played the same team in both games and yet the attendance for the PO game is significantly higher than the league game.

The 2 attenences for both games are:

12/1/2009 Snurf-Snurf 7000 750 200 9 7959 Quarterfinal
11/28/2009 Snurf-Snurf 5782 690 188 8 6668

Also, before playing the last league game, my opponenet was actually in 3rd place. It was only after that game that he fell to 4th which ended up playing me again as I am #1 seed. So according to your theory then shouldn't the attendence be higher for the league game as I was playing him as a higher seed?

hence I believe your theory is not quite true.

P.S. Oh and I just noticed that it was a month change. Just so you know, none of the ticket prices changed as I did not tinker with the pricing system.

can you also please verify that the fan-survey had the same result in both cases.

There are other factors still that could influence your fan-mood. And fan-mood is a big factor in the calculation. Change of PR man maybe? Other changes to the team that made the fanmood improve?? I don't know, just guessing...

On the other hand, while I lost my previous game (last league game), my attendance didn't realy drop for my PO game. My 2 lowest priced tickets did, but my higher priced tickets sold better, so maybe the system was changed in the past few seasons to indeed attrackt a little more fans for PO games.

I had always been under the impression (and also read about it) that it worked the way I described...

Seeing all the info here, and the info from my game, I am also tempted to believe PO games do attract some more fans. But if you raise ticketprices , fans will punish you for it, no matter which type of game.

i.m.o. ticketprice-raise should only be done in case that type of seat is sold out regularly, and you don't have money available for expanding...

Maybe we should gather some more info about teams that have diffrent types of situations (wins losses before PO, and PO game and all attendances of those games, but only if they didn't buy or sell players and didn't change their prices) to get a more acurate view on the system as it is now.

normally the attendence raise, in the PO so a small drop actually is very big. For my team the difference betwenn winning, and loosing my league game before a game with homecourt could make 10-20% difference in income.

I didn't mean to imply that you were wrong or that your post was a joke. I was merely venting frustration at the system.

It is not logical to me that a Playoff game wouldn't draw more or be worth more to the fans in terms of pricing. It was completely my mistake for having attempted to manage my team logically. Additionally, I did not get back to BB to read your post until it was too late. I didn't read your post until December 1st and as such, my ticket price increase had already gone through.

shame on me.

As for fan mood, my fans are only upset with me because they believe I'm not doing everything I can to improve the team (I get 1 basketball) other than that, they are between 4 and 5 balls across the board which results in a 4.5 basketball rating overall.
