Although if he got 20 points behind then it wouldn't make any difference to the result if his backups played lol. I can't really see anything he can do to limit how many minutes his opponents starters get

I've had luck with Look Inside -- early in my season, I was using Base and drawing no fouls; changed to Look Inside and drew many more fouls. You should check out his stats and see if his starters average 2.5 - 3.0 fouls a game. I think those guys are vulnerable to aggressive attacks. However, unless quite lucky, don't expect this to work on more than one, maybe two of his players.

Hassan is right inside tactic should provide slightly more fouls, but the increase isn't gigantic.

Maybe you could make the game faster, i am not sure if it have an impact of the freshness of your and your opponent players but you won't have to give up much for it while playing run and gun instead of motion.

Actually, Low Post is even better for this purpose. But, it will only work if the opponent's big men are offensive minded and yours are good free throw shooters. Then you can get his bigs to foul out. If they are dissent defensively they will just end up with 4-5 fouls or foul out very late, and that doesn't help you.
