For the record - on my draft page I have slots with 8 star ratings, 1 grade rating and zero count them zero best positions.....I must be missing something...

the same with me, and that's normal If you put only 5000 in it, like me ! :)

I joined in December and scouted two players per week. So as a new player I guess you have to take it on the chin for two seasons. If I had know that......hmmmmm

You may think the way this draft has boiled down is unfair for you but should you get the same scouting as someone who has been setting fire to money since the beginning of the season? How is that fair to them? Should new players who just joined a month ago get their roster, 50k a week for the first month and 3 additional 5 star draftees to train? If you got that all within two months of joining that would be unbalanced for players who have been here awhile don't you think?

Everyone starts out with a crappy team, finding your best players on your roster and using the transfer market judiciously (sp?) is the best way to upgrade your team and make it competitive as soon as possible. TV games are usually enough to keep you afloat and let you spend a bit on some players.

Also something to consider is your in a D III league. Myself and the few other teams active in this league started over a full season ago and have had time to develop. I wouldn't take losing your final game to me hard, Ive been training much longer and trading players longer than you. Also something for you to consider is you just got money off a DIII TV game less than 2 weeks after you stopped getting your 50k stipend. This is a pretty good place to be financially headed into next season in my opinion.

You may or may not be demoted since DIII has had quite a bit of players lost, if your demoted you will likely face all brand new teams or bots and will probably have quite a successful season against them if you stick with it. If not try and field the best team you can, watch the transfer market for deals like deadmeat said and remember to put money into scouting as you will likely have a few high draft choices and a chance at 5 star draftees to build around. Old players around 30 sell for pretty cheap since they are bandaid players with limited time left before their skills begin to decline.

I hope you don't quit as thats been frustrating to watch in my division. I believe myself and ginger balls are the only teams left from the beginning of the season and thats including a restock after the all star break with new teams. Hope this helps put your situation in a better light and best of luck next season.

To answer your questions (Deadmeat):

1) You may think the way this draft has boiled down is unfair for you but should you get the same scouting as someone who has been setting fire to money since the beginning of the season?

No I dont, but when joinging a game I dont expect to have to take it on the chin for more than 1 and a half seasons.

2) How is that fair to them?

Read above

3) Should new players who just joined a month ago get their roster, 50k a week for the first month and 3 additional 5 star draftees to train?

You make me laugh as you dont get it. First off I have a total of 8 players with stars, only one of them has a rating and none, yes none have a best position. So explain how is this going to help me next season? How do I find those 3 5-star tallents? I might get one if I am lucky so please...............

4) If you got that all within two months of joining that would be unbalanced for players who have been here awhile don't you think?

First off, I dont have what you think I do so get off you high horse, I explained what I have above. And I dont expect to be a good team overnight, but one would like to see a path to get there in a reasonable amount of time else why bother.....

Next, if this is the way new playeres are treated with the game, it is not a wonder why there are so many bot teams. It seems to me the system may be broken especially for incoming managers.

I have played games like this before, Hattrick for 2+ years and going, when you start out midseason you basically suck for 1 season not 2 or 3.

I dont mind a crappy team and rebuilding, I have done that several times in the baseball I have run for 24 years....

I am still trying to grasp the economic side. ie how much to spend on guys on the T-fr market and such but have failed to graps what are "good buys" and what I can afford.

Thaks cruzanm423 -

I am not looking at the w-l too much at this point I am just trying to figure out how to avoid that next season. My original thought was that it would have been started with the draft and I would be at least getting one-good solid player. However, based on my scouting, that does not appear to be the case. Thus the frustration as I dont see a way out of this cycle at the moment unless I suck for one more season with scouting.

Any hints on how to spot a good deal? I have no clue...

I honestly feel for you. It is tough to have to take it on the chin for two seasons....
