You should play a 3-2 zone. He is constantly playing the same offence, and he is better at outside scoring, so target your defence to that so you defend his outside scoring. And play look inside because he has weaker inside defence.

Well if you can out rebound them i highly recommend a 3-2 zone. Stick your best OD on him and make sure that your guy that plays the star SG has some ID as well. I say that because his SG might be able to score Inside and thats how he gets most his points (probably not). If you have one absolute C with huge rebounding about wonderous (but it depends about your league) and has great ID sensational then it wouldnt hurt to go 1-3-1 but i don't recommend that.

The guy I've got lined up on him has respectable ID and OD. How would a full court press work (my entire team has at least mediocre ID/OD)?

If he averages like 20 TO a game maybe but the safer option is 3-2. FCP that SG will burn you because your whole defence goes down inside and outside. Also he will most like out rebound you if you play FCP. Stamina also plays a part in it if your team has low stamina at the end of each quarter they will perform bad due to tiredness. I'll try my best to scout the team and then tell you the best option i would do.

Because 3-2 is a zone, it's impossible to put your 'best' defender on him. You do get a bonus to OD, definitely. But you may end up being unlucky with your worst defender in your 3-2 zone defending him on a 3 point shot for example. If you want him marked out of the game at all times, you'll need to play man to man.

The main advantage of 3-2 against an outside offence is when a PF steps back to take an outside jumper, a guard/SF with high OD will rotate to defend him, as opposed to M2M defence where your PF/matchup will guard him.

Put your best defender at SG.

Do not play FCP, he will burn you.

Defensively either play M2M if you dont have better rebounding than he does, if you do you can play 3-2.

I would just play M2M though.

Thanks for your help, I won by 30. The star SG had 7 points on 3-16 shooting while my two SGs combined for 1-11 shooting.

congratz ^_^

i'd say his inept GS and ur OD killed em ^_^... but who knows he mgiht be a defensive player judging by all the miss shot you took at SG spot
