I would also have gone with player#1 coz he has better skills.Moreover he score more points and will produce more assists thus helping in more turnovers and this will help ur team's regular performance.
Moreover game shape is a subject to change and u can also do that urself be giving ur team a training for game shape.

I disagree that game shape is a total wast of precious training. If you are trying to win games, training GS is a great thing to train so that your players play at their best.

I believe one of the finalists of the B3 tournament in season 11 got there by training GS every week during the tourney. It all dpends on what you are trying to accomplish, I guess.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

In the play-offs it's very common that the top leagues train Game Shape. It's an edge if you have all your best players with proficient game shape and the opponent's strong.

I'd go with the second..GS is a big factor in terms of performance.
