Hey,
Welcome to the game.
I'll post my responses next to the respective number.

1) What do you mean by coaches? Do you mean trainers? Do you mean players?

2) Yeah people generally overpay for potential. Potential is important if you want to train a player for many seasons, and especially important for national teams. But if you want to improve quickly then buying older guys with well developed skill sets will be cheaper.

3) Yeah spending 10k a week is more than enough in most cases. However, if you are in a bot league (or one with lots of inactive managers) then it may be worth spending more as you will probably get a good player. If you think you are going to finish near the bottom of the league then it may also be worth spending more money so you get to see more players and pick a better one.

4) Expanding is very important. It is the main source of income in this game.

5) I agree. Most games will be easy so you can train out of position easily and improve your players while still winning games.

6) I would not be training 3 positions. Training 2 positions is far better. Get 6 trainees for similar positions and train them up in 2 position. As long as they are in the 18 to 21 year range they are going to be decent trainees.

7) Agreed, not sure on the price range as that will vary depending on the league.

8) Of course.

9) Of course.

10) Of course, but trading too much will be hard as the tax will get in the way.

11) Some people prefer a slower approach of training up all their players. There are many roads to success.

12) I don't think div 4 teams or lower need national team players.

13) All good points.

Thanks Naker for the comments, you've been helpful. I've read many of your posts.

I still think 3 position training is interesting when you got like 6-8 players that all need the same stat :) or close to it.

But yeah, I can't imagine it being useful against real competition. Still some training like rebounding can't even get three position anyway so it's use is limited.

I seen someone sporting the idea of an all 18- year old team training. I think its possible in div 5. Especially when you can buy guys with really good stats for 1,000 sometimes. But I think finding the right mix of players would be too hard and therefore impossible to be better then 3-2-1 position training.

Not surprised I got one ball--most of the ideas are lame I'm sure and borderline completely wrong, but what do you expect from a newbie?

I suppose the reason I believe 3 position training isn't the way to go is because it is a little bit too slow, and it requires you to have too many trainees. With 6-8 trainees it really limits how many good players you can have, and makes it hard to win games in higher leagues. If I am playing in div 2 and 3 of the positions are taken up each game by an 18 year old trainee then I am going to lose every game. And with 3 positions it will take a long time to get those trainees up to a level where they are useful.
I haven't used the team training but I still don't think it would be that effective even with all 18 year olds. It would certainly make winning games a lot harder, although I have never tried it so it may be successful. It would certainly be easier in div 5 than higher divisions.

Ignore the 1 ball :)

It seems like in div 5 its almost better to go for a an-all 1000 under 4500 cost team.

you play to the competition level, and use all the other money to build a larger stadium while selling anyone of value.

then i suppose buy out some clear cut starters a couple weeks before the playoffs.

but its certainly not a style of play that is easy.

Have 10 4500 cost players = 45,000 3 staff worth 2,000 =6,000.
Net cash flow around $75,000 for about 7 weeks.
525,000 towards arena. Also add in money that the current players sell for. Buy a couple starters for the playoffs worth 200K each. Seems reasonable in div5. requires much attention though to gameshape and looking for players...but a strategy.

Certainly a valid strategy. Just try and promote to div 4. The competition is much better and so I think you will enjoy the game more. Also, finishing near the bottom in the division above is better than coming first in the current division.

You will need to spend more then $2000 on a trainer. Having at least a level 4 Advanced trainer is vital to your training.
