Yes sell one of your players that will fetch at least 800k. I'm not sure if the 2 weeks resets every time you go above -500k, but I wouldn't take that risk.

From the game manual.

If you are in debt, you will be charged 5%/week interest until you are back even. If you drop below -$500k, you must get out of debt within two weeks or you will be fired as general manager because the team goes bankrupt.

You need to sell someone and bring your balance sheet positive.
