Firstly, welcome to the game.
Secondly, http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr...
This provides a lot of information on the arena.
Although it won't tell you what to build exactly as that is up to each manager. But it will explain what type of seats sell more often for different teams etc and so you can work out what is best for you based on that.

Then I highly recommend you read this: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr...
It will get you up to speed on almost everything you need to know for this game.
Goodluck

thanks. have read those, and was hoping for something more specific, but guess there are just too many variables (season ticket holders, fan survey, league level, seat numbers, and ticket prices) for it to be realistically feasible to conduct a meaningful study.

Well there is a limit on Luxury Boxes (50) and Courtside Seats (500), so you know how much of those you can build. But for lower tier I would probably build around 4000, and I would build around 16000 bleachers. But you are a long way from doing that, just keep building up seats in small amounts so you know which type are selling out and then build more of them.
