I don't think the team's record weighs in the all-star choices (Kevin Love would "love" playing here :P)

It's player's stats and I would claim that the pure skill of the player also weighs in. This is because I've seen players being transfered to my league a week before the all-star game and then being chosen. But usually the players that lead the points, rebs, assists charts end up chosen

oh ok lol

well do you think any of my players have a chance at making the allstar team? none of them are leaders in anything because i play my bench in the tuesday league games so my big time players drop their average points since they play little minutes and i cant leave the game to just my bench...

I think It is player rating. I dont put much stock in the all star vote. In my first full season, I had far and away the best center in the league and a backup center playing 10 minutes a game was selected. Last season, I was on the other side of the coin, I had SF selected that shouldnt have been.

Yeah the selection is far from perfect. Back when I was in div. IV I was cruising through games, my starters were averaging less than 30 minutes per game and instead other (worse) players with worse ratings were chosen because they were always playing 48 minutes

does anyone know what determines the allstar votes? is it that player's stats, team's record, or a bit of both or nobody know for sure?

It has a lot to do with a player's contribution to his team's success, but Charles has said that attendance plays a major role in who goes to the ASG. Playing in front of more fans gets your name on more ballots, one could assume.

Play a decent player in your games for 48 minutes and he will make it.

There are a few things you have to consider here. If getting players in the all-star game is important to you, you should put some focus on getting them there, i.e. playing your better players more often. Kestens is in the top 10 in ppg and only 2 of the players above him are in your conference. It looks like the Great 8 is the stronger conference (by looking at league leaders) You would have a few players in top 10 rpg for the Big 8. Also keep in mind that you are in an all bot league with teams that have a minimum of 20 players, most of whom play every game, so your players minutes, while being in the mid 20's aren't that far off from the average.
If you don't mind me asking, who are you training? Kestens is the only one who in my opinion, age wise, is worth training, but he has pretty low potential. If you have a few k that you are willing to spend go out and look for a solid rook, you can probably drop Casan or Scalise. They aren't going to get any better and you don't appear to use them much.

Nil Casan and Scalise i use for PF and C. since im in div V i dont think ill really need some expensive big man so im saving up for some 10k big men for next season so im not really looking to buy anybody.

Im training Kestens, Champenge, Tamburin, and Pitoti. I know they aren't that appealing with the age and potential but Im alright with them for a while. Im planning on training them until they a bit too old to train fast and then move them to SG and SF then buy or draft high potential PG to 1 position train.

And the allstar isnt all that important but i was just interested on how players get voted in.

Thnx for all the replies

If you are only training 4 players (in 2pos I am guessing) you might be well served to get two decent rookies off the TL to train along with them already, as you can accommodate 6 trainees in 2 position training.

You have plenty of money. Spending 100k on a rookie w superstar potential would b good for u.. or get a bad ass rookie big man for 500k.. it would be well worth your while
