Same thing happened to me.

"according to the new collective bargaining agreement (announced last season at this time), players have agreed to only take a salary during weeks when their teams play at least one competitive league game. Teams finishing in 5th and 8th place will pay no salaries during both weeks of the playoffs, and teams eliminated from the playoffs will pay no salaries in the second playoff week. Teams in a relegation series will only pay second week salaries if they end up playing a decisive game during the second week."

I am very confused.

The first league game for the new season will happen on Saturday.

Hence you pay salaries this week

The schedule hasn't been done yet but as soon as it is u will have a game scheduled for this Saturday.

Do any of you guys know if staff salaries/TV contracts/merchandise are still paid in weeks where you don't play a competitive game? Or is it only the players salaries that are negated?

Everything in the economy runs as usual, except that you don't pay salaries and have no attendance income
