Might just be a little bug in the match-viewer. Maybe you could post the exact scene with a link here?

Definitely not a matchviewer problem, because he shoots the free throw, is recorded the point and then leaves the court.

He should not have been able to substitute unless he was injured.

This substitution is not permitted in NBA but allowed in FIBA and also NCAA I think.

Maybe it's not a bug but working as intended.

is that really forbidden in the nba(as stated college and fba it is allowed), i didn't reached the rules now but i think as long as he hit he is allowed to substitute.

but this substitution takes also place (here) after a missed extra free throw and in this case the game isn't stopped and the shooter is not allowed to leave for sure.

So it isn't only the fault of displaying the substituition before the shot.

He made the free throw, but again, this is definitely not allowed in any basketball, including FIBA and definitely college.

FIBA
Substitution Same during playing time.
During free throws – substitution must be
made before the ball is given to the free
thrower for the first free throw.

College
During free throws – substitution can be
made before the last free throw.

Also keep in mind, that the way this was displayed the foul shooter and his sub were on the court at the same time.

I see it is a FIBA rule now. So I assume the game just looks ahead to the made free throw and makes the substitution?

FIBA definitely allows it and I am pretty sure it was changed before 2007.

BB uses mixed rules so we will have to wait for an "official" to clear it up.

http://www.fiba.com/downloads/Rules/2010/OfficialBasketba...

rule 19.2.2 states is pretty direct after the last succesful free throw.

And like said before this is like that since a long time.

NBA sadly removed their rules, from their page(at the least the one i find with google on several wiki sites).

Edit: NBA is forbidden college it is allowed, see here -> http://hoop.jazzace.ca/rulediff.html
