passing is a primary skill for (point) guards, if not even THE primary skill for them.

The reason why many NT guards don't have high passing is twofold. On the one hand, they have been trained in the past, when passing was less important than it is now. Also, high passing will lead a PG to hit the potential cap earlier, and that is of course unfortunate. But for your own PG, you should definitely go for passing in the range of your other main skills. NT needs are not the same as team needs in most of the cases.

Passing is a primary skill for a Guard. It is difficult to answer your question without knowing the players current skills levels.

yes. There was a game engine update in the past that made passing more useful than before. This happened quite some time ago though.

And yes, passing is important. Good passing means better offensive flow, and better offensive flow means more high-quality shots as well as less turnovers.

Passing, is in my opinion, important at every position.

If a player gets the ball and has atrocious passing, his options what to do with the ball are limited (although it would be interesting to know if a player who is an atrocious passer receives less passes than a good passer does due to him not being able to distribute it well).

not as important as for the PG, but yes, every player should be able to pass the ball. PFs and Cs should have at least mediocre passing, SFs and SGs need at least respectable (and rather more)

passing is probably the second most important stat in the game next to OD ...
without good passing, good luck beating any good defensive teams.
