The position is a suggestion only on where it thinks that player would play best.

When you have a guard and train him in inside skills, he will move towards being a forward and position changes from sg to sf

Conversely you can have a c/pf and if you train him in guard skills he will move towards being sf.

I see. Then does the listing of suggested best position have any effect on Salary? Thanks.

the suggested position is the position in which the salary is highest for the player's skillset
