it depends on what kind of offense do u want to run.... if your a team that plays inside all the time so he should have really good IS n vice versa..... IMO OD should be like atleast 16+, ID 10+,Rb around 10, IS 10+, SB 7-10.... i have never trained a SF like that but by looking at the transfer list i think those numbers are pretty close

n i think someone that looks like this is a great sf
OS 17 JR 13
OD 18 HD 12
DR 12 PS 12
IS 14 ID 14
RB 10 SB 7
that should bring his salary close to 200k

I do agree that would be a great SF, but it is almost impossible to train a SF with such a sum of skills (129). I also think a SF does not need such a high JS but he does need a higher DR and and HA. If he doesnt he wont be able to to layups, which would make his high IS pointless. In my opinion OD, HA and DR are the most important skills for a SF.

yeah i have a level 6 coach, my guy has high jr 14 at the mo and is currently 1 for IS :(

What do you guys think of

16 14
18 15
12 11
1 14
11 7

Do i really need to train IS, will his outside skills and inside defense be enough?

What would you consider a minimum @ IS?

11 Driving is it? That means he's going to beat his defender and head for the hoop a bit (some more, some less, depending on your Offense).

So, let's say he gets inside 5 times a game. You've now wasted 5 Possesions, as that 1 just won't stand up.

If I have a guy with horrible IS, I pray he has horrible Driving also. Why? So he doesn't create MORE shots inside, where he can't shoot. Same with JS/JR. If the JS is horrible, I want the JR to be horrible... hoping if the JR is low enough he just won't shoot many 3's that he just won't hit.

I think his Driving is good enough to create more shots Inside (from driving off the perimeter). This will do three things. It will give him LESS Jump Shots, which he is good at. So you get less shots that he's actually good at. Maybe with a Drive of 1 he wouldn't look to drive... he might Force a few more Outside Shots but he probably has better odds hitting a forced OS than an IS where he's open.

The second thing it's going to do is make him take more IS, which he is atocious at. So now, more misses. Also, his Rebounding is pretty good... which means he might just get his own miss back... but then what will he do? Miss again?

Third thing is this. He has pretty good passing, which helps with Offensive Flow. If his Experience is low he may attempt to Drive (leading to another bad IS) when the better option is to Pass. So now you weaken his Passing Effectiveness.

That IS actually affects many things that this player would do so well, but now gets less chances to do. Each time he Drives could have been a good OS or PS that he would have made. Obviously, not only does that low IS hurt the player, it hurts your team overall.

Pretty much, once your have Driving at any decent level... he needs to be able to handle himself on IS. Maybe not be a beast, but be good enough that you don't get angry every time he drives.

he is still a very good player and doesnt necessary need to play at SF, he can easily slot in at SG while defending SF.

but I agree 5 IS is a nice goal and he will be very good on an outside offensive team.

My SF will turn 23 soon with 80 skillpoints presently.

I want to make him a well rounded one with a bit more strength to the inside game.

His current skills are

JS 9 JR 5
OD 11 HA 7
DR 10 PA 7
IS 9 ID 10
RB 10 SB 3

His PS and RB is more or less done, his JR won´t increase much as it doesn´t fit to my planned training.
I will continue 1on1 Forwards, ID, IS training for him, and 2-4 weeks of OD training wouldn´t hurt as well. But then again I have to keep in mind my other trainees and his potential (perennial).
But it´s a lot of fun creating his own SF...
