Usually I would say you are lame for "tanking", but since you did take over the team a few games into the seaon it's not as bad. Now as far as fans next season I would say that your arena will struggle to get half full the entire season.
If you don't believe me take a look at my league. The team that I am tied with, Oggagalites, tanked his entire season last season so that he could get the first pick in the draft. He got that pick, sold him for over 700k. Then he couldn't get anyone to come to his games, and as a result his net income each week was $-63,000. In his last game against me, the number two team in his division, he had a third of his arena empty.
So tanking kills your fans for next season, but looking at your situation, I would say that is your only chance at having a decent next season. However you must get the best player in your draft, and sell him for big money or you won't be able to make any kind of come back.

If I were you I wouldn't have tanked at all. You're in D.5 filled with bots, what's there to tank for? You'd likely get one of the best picks in the draft anyway because bots pick randomly. IMO, if you do not get the best player in the draft, you kinda screwed yourself over :/

u dont need to tank in ur present league.i mean ur league is full of bots.
i had same scenario in my previous league.i had the second best record in the league and still got 2 really good players(and a decent third) and sold all 3 of them for over a million.
all u need to do is to invest in the draft and u will get a decent pick in the draft even if u have the best record in the league.
so i would not suggest u to tank.atleast not in this league.

If You'll have no chance to promotion in next season You should tanking. Tanking is great solution, especially in league full of bots.
Of course You could still win matches with bots, even with tanking. So You should try to do it. Bots have players with salaries = 2-4k. So all You need to beat them is to have players with salaries = 3-5k ;-) You always need few traines and few scrubs to fill squads, it should be enoguh. Bots don't manage minutes (gameshape) and enthusiasm, so it should be easy to beat them, even with players which are worth 1k. And You shouldn't spend more money if it isn't neccessary.

You make no sense! How is tanking a good solution in a league of bots? Tanking means you try to lose every game, usually so you can get a higher draft pick. However the great thing about bots is they don't put any thought into the draft. So Tanking is a TERRIBLE solution in a league full of bots.
"Of course You could still win matches with bots, even with tanking. So You should try to do it."
Again, What are you saying!?
You should still try to win when you are tanking?
