from my experience of using inside focussed offenses i would explain it like this-
in an inside paced offense the guards(PG mostly) look to pass it to the big men first.if they cant find them open they look to pass the ball to the SF.but if that fails as well then they are left with no other option other than to drive the ball to the basket.and if their driving is better than the defense of their defender then the possibility of them scoring the shot increases.

i dont know if this is the correct explanation or not but this is how i have understood it.

Do't forget the oponent. If your centre faces a great defener, he may pass the ball to the pg than shoot and miss. You must have good players offensively inside, and probably you guards are much better in that aspect (and the C nd PF pf your rivals are better than yours).

Now, if you win... who cares? ;)
