i would go for HCA as it would give you an edge of some points, moreover you would receive 66% share in the arena income.
since both the teams are LI oriented teams,i dont think that ur weak OD would pose much problem, but if he is a cunning manager then he might try to exploit your weakness.
i think that you should play normal.
and as far as the TV match in concerned,i dont think that you should worry about that much cuz the playoff game is also a TV game,so if you loose the league game then you can try to win the playoff ad get those "i am happy that the team played well last time they were on TV" balls back.

So the predicament I'm in is so - 1. I'm playing my #2 in conference manager (I'm #3) 2. It's a TV game 3. If I lose this game he acquires HCA in the playoffs 4. My Enthusiasm is at 12 as of now after my game

My question is whether or not I should play TIE as usual to prepare for the playoffs or Normal to pull HCA in the playoffs?
What would you do in this situation?

The TV game part of it should not enter into consideration; the playoffs will all be TV games anyhow, and that and the last game vs. rival resets in the offseason.

You still forgot to mention what you would do.

TV Game is apart of the list because I don't want a loss in attendance.

Haha okay. You have to keep in mind though for the past 4 games I haven't been playing my entire starting lineup. So stats are down a bit but you're right my OD is weak.

Let me throw this into the equation as well. My opponent has been playing TIE for the last 9 games or so to prepare for the playoffs according to an offsite I use. That said, should I still play Normal even though he may TIE?

Edit: I just checked and it was 5 League Games ago that I played all of my starters in the starting lineup (vs. Idaho Bighorns). I'd like to think my OD going from Inept (Low) to Mediocre (Low) is a big difference. :P

I remember seeing that thread a while ago but don't have supporter so I didn't want to scroll through tons of pages to find it.

I read a little bit on CrazyEyes post and was wondering if you've ever tried a blank lineup and "Let Coach Decide" tactic before?

You're not going to have a loss in attendance. The playoff game will pretty much sell out regardless unless the arena prices are ridiculous in the extreme. The effect of the "lost last TV game" thing is really only a concern for your remaining regular season home games, but since the season will be over and that resets in the offseason, I wouldn't make that a factor in my decision making. If it were the first game of the season, on the other hand, and your second TV game was the last game of interleague play, obviously that would be an entirely different consideration.

I didn't answer the other part of the discussion because I haven't looked at your team or his at all. Generally, I'd prefer the TIE and maintaining enthusiasm at the maximum possible level. In an almost identical scenario last season (a 1 v 2 match, on the road, TV game) I went with a TIE and pulled out a close win in a game that absolutely was a 50-50 game (neither of us ever led by more than 5). I think a normal would have been a better choice in retrospect, but it worked out.

I think more than anything, you need to figure out this in a three-game strategy. Do you think you have any chance at all against the #1? If not, you might as well normal and POCT to at least ensure you get that far. If you think you have a good chance at making the finals, you might TIE and then if that works maybe even try a Playoff Normal to put you in the best shape for the matchup against #1.

I tried it for 4 games and, perhaps coincidentally, lost 3 of them. That aside, I thought it worked ok and more or less as I would have done. the minutes were also pretty well distributed. It didn't seem to look much at the opponent's strengths and weaknesses.

Don't do "Let Coach Decide" with the Backup/Reserves blank. That has the starters for 3 quarters and the subs for the last quarter.

See I always go with "Strictly Follow Depth Chart" and somehow always end up in garbage time at the end of the 3rd / start of the 4th (Playing all my backups). Which usually screws me over in training minutes for my 3rd trainee. Is there something I can do different?

Well it's really tough to decide. I KNOW I can beat the #1 guy in my conference, just haven't under the right circumstances. Game 1 against him wasn't fair at all since it was the first game of the season so I TIE'd him (Lost by 20). Game 2 I lost by 1 with 4 seconds left on the clock to make a shot but missed (Had high Enthusiasm 8-9 and played Normal). So if I make it to the finals I can CT him and win since he stays at 5 enthusiasm the entire season.

The big problem though is my last game is against the Purple Chihuahuas who will have max Enthusiasm just like me who I've beaten once this season but with CT. He also just acquired a new 10K SF that may be a problem for my 11K SF. I don't know what he'll do in the last league game and then in the PO's. He may just TIE and then CT me so he has a chance to advance.

I'm thinking I'll do a TIE, Normal and then CT come the #1 matchup. Or at least that's what I'm edging towards..
