D4 staff already. 36k with a competant Doc, advanced Trainer, and competant PR Guy. So staff is good. Now I need to save my cash and build arena. I keep on filling the bleachers, which is good, I'm gonna build (when I got 100k) 500 Bleachs for D4. Overdid it on Lower Tier Sadly. Got almost 100% on the Courtside (missed by 1 seat) and still fillin my 5 Lux Boxes.......

My next expansion:
500 Bleachers
0 Lower Tier
20 Courtside
1-2 Lux

Hope to maybe get to 7500 by D4

PS: GM/Mod, change the title to: "Planning for D4" I missed the f.

Ok, now that I got the plan, I think I'll do this:

do "minor" tanking next season, get to no worse than 5th. Of course If I get stuck in some competitive league (IV.10, IV.20, IV.9, IV.5, etc.) I'm screwed. Or If I end up in an uncompetitive D4 league, I have an advantage and get 5th easily, while bringing in 60-70k a week.

Plan A
I'll keep my roster (may fire a 2 or 3 players and then get a 15ker) TIE some games that I know I'll lose, and CT the games I need to win at the end of the season+ the TV games

Plan B
Sell off my whole team (except my trainees) and hang on them. Then use the 400something k to get 1 25ker, 1 15ker, and few scrimmage players in the mix

Plan C
This is emergency plan, end up in comepetitive D4 league, bang my head to myself, try my best to avoid relegation

Want more opinions on how I should set up for D4. (30640) my team ID

um, I racing to beat my trainees cap, before they're too much for me to handle in D4. I like the idea that Game187 said of doing secondaries for a while so I won't end up balloning the salaries. So faster I get to 10k+ seats faster I'm promoting 7015 right now. 3000 more. What should I focus on building? (obliviously I overdid it on the Lower Tier, bleachers keep on filling up. need to also get lux boxes in go.

I got James Coleman and Val Delong. Coleman's one of my originals and Delong is one of those steals from the TL.
Coleman is expected to be t 60k and Delong at 100k by end of training. (which is I hope in 2-1/2 more seasons: S23) This season it's at 10-16k salary, which I'm still able to handle. But if I do keep on doing primaries they'll blow up on me. But if I listen to the South Stag guy I can still sustain em. Can't afford to blow em up, these are my cornerstones I'm talking about...........

I got some bankrupt schedule. I got some strange wacko thing, with 2 straight weeks of no salary. Already had one, and gotta do it again on 7/10 and 7/14 ::sigh:: But got 2 straight home games........

EDIT

Man, wheres a GM to change the title.

It's "Planning For D4" please

ok, let me calculate.....what week is this, 7?

Coleman: Estimated at 14k with 64-70% training.

Delong: Estimated at hmm, 8k. With 48-53% training.

1 thing i will say is aim to have no player over 40k in a div4 roster, I say 2x40k, 2x20k, 4x15-20, 2x6-10k, 3xunder 5k is solid squad in div4, so be careful with your training (maybe a season of secondaries will keep u under the limit and still give u a chance to improve your squad)

PS: 10,000 seats is the best starting point for getting ready as well (also make sure your staff are under 40k if poss)

You're recommending a 220k+ salary right there! I think that might be a little high for D4. Heck, right now I have a 5-8 record in III with 207k salary, and I know there are people in playoff positions with smaller payrolls than me. I would recommend closer to 180-190k salary to be competitive in D4.

First, I would not count on promoting into D.III in two seasons to beat the salary spike on your trainees. You might get lucky, promote into a weak league, and everything goes right. But here's how I see it:

1. Your roster isn't ready for D.IV right now, especially since a lot of your decent players are old.
2. Your arena isn't even close to ready.
3. There is no way you'll make enough money in one season to build an arena for D.III and buy a team that will get you to D.III, no matter what league you end up in. Take my word for it. Two seasons ago, I was in IV.62. Last season, I was in an all-bot D.V league after tanking and relegating out of IV.62. I also had an MVP and a superstar potential draftees that I sold for almost $1 million. That money was used to expand my arena to what you see now, and buy the roster you see now. The arena is good, the roster is okay and might get me to promote in a couple of seasons. But I'm in a weak D.IV league, I tanked for two seasons, and I got killer draftees that I sold for a huge profit. And I still wasn't able to make the money to buy my way to instant promotion.
4. You don't want to promote via bot cleanup. You wouldn't get the attendance bonus, and the attendance bonus is what will keep your seats full in D.IV even if/when your team is struggling. That's critical if you're so worried about making money.
5. You can try to train secondaries, but to do that you'll have to get Coleman and Delong each 48+ at PG, and there's no way you can do that in D.IV and not get slaughtered, regardless of which league you end up in.

Ultimately, you can't outrun their salaries. You can either choose to deliberately not train them to their potential so you can still afford them, or train them as best you can and accept that you'll have to sell them after they get too expensive (which, with big men, will be really soon). Not trying to be harsh or negative, but that's just the way it is.
