maybe he was playin in weaker league. Its harder to get same rating facing stronger oponents.

He didn't play any games between 16.6 and 7.8 (probably because injury) so his GS dropped. When he played first game in your team, his GS was maybe 3-4 and now it is 6. But when you improve his GS he will play like before...
