Fishbowl: It's all about the mateship, camaraderie and mentoring!
History was about to be made as Commissioner Yodabig came out onto the stage to commence Fishbowl season 9 draft. An incredible crowd of ten managers watched in awe as Commissioner Yodabig starts to speak into the microphone "Okay guys I will go and open the envelope, but the sharks pick first. You are on the clock." Everybody turned their attention towards the Sharks co-captains who were distracted by Commissioner Yodabig's opening speech. Bainsy chuckles "What envelope?" and Skyhookz shouts "Pick me! Pick me!"

However this only lasted for a few mere seconds as the mighty Sharks got down to business. "With the first pick in the draft the sharks pick" followed by a short drum roll "Trikster - Baxter Bogans." Everybody except for Commissioner Yodabig goes nuts as the Commissioner continue to play his kid's drum set. Sitting in the front row, Fred stands up and in anger shouts "Don't have time for this" and leaves abruptly. With Fred out of the building, Commissioner Yodabig continue to play with his drums and glares at one of the Sharks co-captains "BAINSY WAKE UP!" Both the Sharks co-captains laughs in response "It's your pick fool, we chose Trikster! Worst run draft ever, Andrew Demetriou must be in control!" Commissioner Yodabig picks himself off the floor and looks at the envelope Mllama presented him earlier. "Wow, all three teams had the same top preference. Trikster is a popular man!"

The Calamari makes no hesitation and picks up Robhoe - Western Titans with the second pick. Commissioner Yodabig looks at Friends of Fanny captain Mllama's choice. "Mllamaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, steals another Calamari - we have been plundered!" The third pick of the draft was Razorsharp - The Winnerz.

The draft continues very quickly as Johnno - Slam and Matty8 - Moorditj Magick are picked up by the Friends of Fanny and Calamari respectively. Skyhookz screams "Nooooooooooooooo! I demand a recount!" as he sees that Matty8 is gone. As tears are coming down from Yoda's face (TT) "YOU DEMAND? We have lost 2 guys already. Our draft is already in ruins!" As the Sharks make the first of their two next selections, Yoda mutters "Been brutal so far." The Sharks co-captains look towards each other and picks up Sundae09 - Awesome. After choosing Sundae, they knew who they were going to pick up next. Skyhookz proclaims in excitement "…and the next calamari to be eaten by a shark" Yoda in shocked cries out "Noooooooooooo, not Latino Heat!" Yoda easily fell for the Shark's trap as they pick Urmumma - Urmummas. An ABBLer falling down to pick 7! Without a doubt the pick of the draft.

Losing fellow Calamari left right and centre. Being played around with the Sharks' duo. It was a long night for Yoda without a doubt. The remaining picks were chosen without much hesitation. As the draft finished with pick 14 Latino Heat - Australian Boomers and pick 15 JW - JW City Bulls. Friends of Fanny or whatever they are called would have been extremely happy with this final selection as JW City Bulls is a top division II team, an experienced team after 8 seasons with the Sharks. Latino Heat watching the draft live felt out of sorts. The only division IV team to be in the draft. Lacking in confidence, Latino Heat tells Yoda "I will pull out if you want a more competitive team." Skyhookz jumps in trying to reassure him "Latino Heat, I'm going to say this once. You’re a Calamari, there is no escape!" Followed by a mutter "Until the next re-draft and we steal them all again…!" Seeing a Shark and his newly drafted Calamari together, Yoda quickly pulled Latino Heat attention towards him "You are about to see how a real Federation operates. Just beat Leeroy and we will be happy!"

As most of the fans and managers start to leave. Bainsy one of the Sharks co-captains gives a farewell wink to Skyhookz. Latino Heat nearby still unsure about what season 9 Fishbowl holds for him, look in front and finds himself face to face with the Sharks co-captain Skyhookz. "Hey dude, do you reckon I'm making the Fishbowl weak? If people just smash me by 100 then they will want me out! I should not have made a big deal to Yoda and let him pick someone better." Skyhookz puts his arm around Latino Heat's shoulder and with a sly smile "The Fishbowl isn't about winning. It's all about mateship, camaraderie and mentoring." This is the Fishbowl bond we all have heard about - mates helping each other out.

Wow not only well written and funny but all actually true. You must have some sort of photographic memory. It is like when you are discussing something with OTT9 and he says, "This reminds me of game three of the season 11 ABBL finals, you remember how..."
