Skyhook Dreamers--------------- 31 25 22 22 100
Geelong Vipers----------------------- 16 23 18 31 88

I think the Dreamers were dreaming of playing Princeton, then actually did. Dunno wtf they were thinking, but it actually worked. Definitely outmatched on the ratings, but managed to come home with the W. Well done. Maybe strategy does mean something in this game. If someone works something out, send me a post card.

3 Points - Ilya Pronin (SKY) Pronin whisked his curly black hair about in this game, giggling randomly for the cameras. He was reasonably strong everywhere, with 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 25 points off 11-16 fgs and a sexy 3-5 from down town. Definite crowd please this one. Dunno what the pirouettes were about, though. *shrugs*

2 Points - Sam Rosales (GEE) They call him "The White Rose" in the Philippines, but other teams call him "The Black Hole" due to his inability to make a pass (avg of 0.8 ass/gm last season). That being said, he gets the job done on the offensive end and, as the old saying goes, keep shooting and you'll get (some of) them in, he did just that: 13 to be precise). Just kidding, that's not an old saying, I just made it up. No, for cereal, 50% isn't so bad but would have expected more from a PF. With 9 rebs, and 30 points from 13-26 fgs, he just grabs 2 MVP points.

1 Point - Jean-François Courregès (SKY) This guy was so good he played a whole game, even when the coach/manager wasn't worried about minute management. His stats (4 reb, 6 ass, 2 st, 14 pts) alone don't seem like evidence enough to prop him up, but his opponents stats are where the secret's at. He forced Bertens into making 3 TOs and committing 4 fouls. That being said, I'm sure his coach and defensive trainer will be having words to him about cutting back on using his famous "finger rolling good" pick-up line on the cheerleaders during game time and, instead, putting his hand up on the mid-range shot.

Gisborne Gladiators------- 30 32 21 27 110
Brisbane Thunder------------- 17 33 23 18 91

Both teams trying to save money meant that they forgot to feed their players. Oh, wait, no they're just bad players. Jokes!!

3 Points - Gustaw Fejdasz (GIS) Translated into English, Gustaw's surname means simply "Feed the Donkey". That's the word on the street, anyway. There is another expression, but that may be better left unsaid. Leading his winning team in rebounds (14), blocks (2) and points (22 from 10-15), he rightfully deserves his well earned 3 MVP points. The Donkey within him is strong.

2 Points - Stuey Faka’osifolau (BRI) With a modern remake of Meet the Fockers swirling around in his head, Faka didn't shoot so well tonight and, as a result, was under par with his usual scoring prowess. It is a little odd that he didn't score more because I'm just a little bit thinking that he was one of a few on the team who knew where the basket was. Lucky the Thunder have a few rising stars... With 6 reb, 4 ast, 29 pts and an impressive 5 stl, he slurps down 2 MVP points.

1 Point - Eric Shelden (GIS) Eric was pissed about playing out of position and is currently holding a voodoo doll of his coach and a saucepan. Confused about the saucepan? He is too. 13 reb, 5 ast and 14 points barely earned him the remaining MVP point over his former good friend (who stole his spot at c) Garbos. They were seen later attempting a stare down, but whimpering at the same time.

Awesome^.---------------------------- 27 38 29 25 119
Los Coolfreakz El'Ninios---------------- 13 5 5 14 37

I hope those Freaky Cool Kids can stay with us while they get demolished for the first few seasons. They might be "cool" in the playground, but I think the best we can call them on the court at the moment is "cute". What a cute loss they had!

3 Points - Muharem Mahmutefendić (AWE) Didn't have as effective a game as he wanted to, but only because he was deeply concerned about hurting any of his rivals. We're not talking physically here, either. A stunning 23 reb (he was fighting his team mates more for these), 4 ast, 3 st, 2 blk and 21 pts from 10-14 shooting gives him a nice cushion for the 3 MVP points.

2 Points - Pedro Manuel Vallesteros (AWE) This weird eyed, red head only gets 2 MVP points because he barely missed and, somehow, managed to grab a fair few rebounds only being 6'4". 25 pts from 10-12 fgs, including a swish from three, 6 reb... Not so bad Mr Funny Eyes, not so bad.

1 Points - Brent Hargrave (AWE) A better all round game than Pedro, but Pedro got the votes over him with his poopoo shooting effort (9-17 isn't so bad normally, but consider the competition). 5 reb, 5 ast, 2 stl and 22 pts, including 2-2 from down town (note than one of those bounced 7 times before going in) make a worthy case for 1 MVP point.

Lol nice work Axis. I actually forgot to set a lineup, so was missing my "rising stars" in that game unfortunately.

All good. I said I'd do the first week or two. If you (or someone else) wants to do next week's games, that's cool with me. I'll chime in later at some stage.

JW City Bulls----- 16 18 20 28 82
Home Axis------ 16 32 16 26 90

A nice comeback from the Bulls but it was too little too late. Personally, I would've played LI & m2m but.. Wait, I did. Oh, that's probably why I won!

3 Points - Thomas Friedrich Mayriedl (HAX) There might be some contention about choosing Mayriedl over Corica, but I'm doing the write-up, so suck it. No ladies, he's not married, but he did shoot over 50% for 14 points, grab 13 boards (6 offensive), dish out 5 assist and make swat after swat with 6 blocks (some of the crowd in the Thunderdome were chanting, "who's house? Tom's house!). If someone wants to watch the whole game to work out which Bulls players he rejected, I'll give him or her a dollar.

2 Points - Jarrod Corica (JW) A mammoth offensive performance by Jarrod in this game. Throughout the game, his opponents were left trying to quell the fires after being burned so many times in a row. 8 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl and 37 points from 18-37 attempts rounded out a performance that was awesome, but just not good enough for the W.

1 Point - Brandon Donnellson (HAX) The 1 pointer could've gone to a few players, but I had to choose one. Vulcan was excellent on the defensive end, but didn't quite impress enough with the ball. Brandon managed 11 reb, 3 ast, 1 stl and 20 pts from 10-16 fgs.
