Your players will only be sold after the third economical update with a balance of -500K. So if you are sure that after the 2 home games, you will get enough money, not to be in -500K after next update, you don't really need to sell anybody this week

as a conclusion, bankruptcy applies if you are at -500$ when(before) the update begins, or after it takes place?

really? I was told before the update, not after. also was told you had to be in the positive, not just back above -500K?

this is really confusing me. any chance we could use an example to help?

mon 1 update: balance = -200K
mon 2 update: balance = -700K
mon 3 update: balance = -700K
mon 4 update: balance = -700K
-> all players listed to be sold here?
mon 5 update: balance = -700K
-> or all players listed to be sold here?

From the manual:

If you go into debt, you will be charged a 5% penalty each week until you are positive again at the time of a economic update. If you drop below -$500k, you must get out of debt within two weeks or your key players will be put on the transfer list at a starting price of zero. If after selling your players you are still not out of bankrupcy, you will be fired as manager at the next economic update. Bankrupcy is calculated first in the economic update and active bids on your players do not count as money you have to avoid bankruptcy.

NOT in bankruptcy as the bankruptcy is done first when you were at -300k

This statement seems to imply that it is before subtracting salaries and adding merch and tv revenue, not after?

That's my reading. What I hadn't realized is that you have to get out of debt completely - not just over -500k.

let me restate my question.

when there is the risk of losing your team, do you get a notice from the system that you have to go over a certain threshold?
