I think it has more to do with the specific players than the tactic. What are you players inside defensive skills look like? Also, you outside D appears to be very weak when you run 2-3 so you may be fouling on the perimeter more than you think if the other teams SF-PF are taking jumpers. The last thing is maybe it is just the hidden aggression for those specific players, so they naturally foul more.
