I just tried it with Carey Rickard on my team. Set price at 1000, then clicked sell then changed price to 2000 and clicked sell again. No issue.

Might be a display-bug on the bidding history, not exactly an auto-bid algorithm

The Manage my Team page doesn't show your bids on your own players.

This was not an autobid, and a clear indication is the 21 second difference from the time the player was listed (auction ends time minus 3 days) to the time the bid was made. If it were and autobid, those two times would be the same.
