you also gain a small amount of money on merchandise sales. that's directly influenced by your PR manager i believe.

When winning a TV-match (and other matches, but specially the TV ones), you sell more stuff.
When hiring a high level Spokesman, you sell more stuff and more people come and even buy more expensive tickets on your matches (turn up your prices when the seats are close to 90% full).
