Personally, I would entertain selling him off and taking your profit. From looking at your team, I didn't see anyone else that was really being trained for too long so you do have some disparity in your team. You may find it hard to stay up even with a monster like that because the other pieces can't reliably get him the ball.
It may also be uphill without him since you don't have many other highly skilled players, but you certainly have a better chance if you get the right trainees and the right pieces around them. Frankly, in the early stages of this game, your team's future success is all about maximizing profit and assets. As soon as something is going to turn unprofitable, they should be sold and your team should shift a little.
Ideally, your next adventure should decide what kind of team you will be in the next 2-3 seasons as you select additional trainees and adopt a training regimen.
