Why is it when you play an inside offense,
your guards can't make shots
and vice versa.
Really, your guards should be shooting at the same skill level just not as often.
It makes no sense to have your
Centers shooting three's in a motion offense.
Personally, I wish my PF and C would shoot a lot more threes against a M2M, but that's just me. ;)
I have a feeling that the reason it is the way it is stems from having player decisions be based strictly on their assessment of how likely a given action is to succeed, with no credence paid to the tactical decisions. The tactic decisions, then, need to impose a bonus/penalty to given actions in order to influence the players to use the appropriate choices more frequently. This, of course, means that when it's hard to shoot 25% from 3 with an outside offense, it drops down to nigh unto impossible to hit one with an inside focus, and even still the penalty is not quite enough to prevent teams from lofting double digit threes.
Of course, that's all my impression, and if it's close or near to it, it'd be a really difficult thing to fix without a revamp of the engine, which seems unlikely. I'd love to be wrong and see a fix, though.
