England U21 80-96 Ukraine U21

Sorry for the late post.

I didn't get the chance to view the game so im only going off the boxscore.

We did have a few gameshape issues going into the first game which mde our chances even les of winning the game and because if this I decided to TIE. I am pleased with the match ratings we got, especially the inside scoring rating. It was always going to be a tough game as if you look at their squad they have a lot of high salary players including a lot of inside players.

20y/o Brodie top scored in the game for us with 20 points to go with his 11 rebounds, Parsons was the top rebounder with 11 boards while playing out of position and Gamage was top in assists with 6 assists. Ayson also deserves a shoutout with a great statline of 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal.

I am quite pleased with what I've seen from this game. With Ukraine been ranked 11th before the game (compared to our rank of 51) I believe that we push on starting next week against 29th ranked Portugal.

replay?
I'm a bit shocked you haven't watched the game or analysed the play-by-play. I know scouting and training players is moat of ybe U21 job but you also need to try and win games.

I watched it and to be fair it wasn't a bad performance given the opposition, I was pleasantly surprised the score was as close as it was, they were hurting inside for game shape which definitely helped us. That said, Brodie put up a good display against his opposite who carries over twice his salary, that is a good sign for next season given he is only 20 and has room for improvement. Ayson and Gamage put some good assists in but we suffered in rebounding and OD. All in all, not bad against Ukraine and given that many in the squad are 20, it may be a promising sign for your second season.

All the best mate.

I did watch for about half a quarter when I realised my trainee was in it, however not speaking/understanding Russian I had no way to engage in a conversation with the other people in the chat about how the game had been until then, but in the third it didn't look like a blowout.

As Vecx pointed out there are several 20yo in the team, so it would have always been very tough without substantially better GS which is impossible at this stage of the season.

Looking forward to this game, after our performance last week and looking at Portugal's game last week I think we could possibly cause an upset. A couple of new players have been added to the team so I hope that the players in the squad now can retain a good GS so we can push on from now.
