isolation has a different shots distribution, to play iso inside you need to have P SG and SF with high value of IS, instead iso outside needs PF and C with high JS to work well. So basically you need to have well balanced players, I play often isos and I'm completely satisfied.

I see, so how is Princeton offense varying from out iso?
I guess the JS and JR are valued in the PF position for both equally? Maybe the iso would require DR and HA as well, while Princeton is more passing instead?

with princeton you will take more 3 points shots, imo princeton is a tacitc that requires the most complete players and only few teams of first leagues can use it

You need a player that can create a mismatch and has great DR/HA/PA too, so preferably a Guard with high IS for outside ISO or a PF with high secondaries (except OD) for inside ISO. That's not to say that the rest can be bad offensively, because the iso player isn't out there to score everything, just to create the offense, which can also mean he kicks it out to an open player (hence the high PA requirement).

Princeton requires more outside shooting overall and passing on your bigs, and Motion and R&G are also more focussed on jumpshots and 3 pointers, where ISO's can generate any kind of shot depending on what the defense gives.

I don't know if there's some debate here then, it may look you two say it the other way around.
PG, SG, SF with secondaries for bigs. Which iso would I use?
PF, C with secondaries for perimeter. Which iso would I use?

I'd like to ask myself how you see Motion varying from outside iso.

Outside ISO gets the ball to your backcourt player that has the best ability to score. It has no focus inside or outside per se, just how the ISO player scores best. Usually, the defender of a guard has low inside defense, so if you can get the ball to a guard with high Inside shot, he will have a good iso matchup. Vice versa for inside iso.

Because the iso player needs to create offense, he'll need good driving, handling, passing and of course scoring in some way. This goes for both iso's, and the best way to score is usually the way your opponent's defense is worst.

Considering how much misinformation floats around on these boards, have you thought about trying it out yourself to learn the answer to your question? If I had such a one-dimensional team that I thought iso might benefit it, I think that's what I would do.

We should all listen to Mike, he knows his stuff. After all, he has a staggering 18 players to do human experiments on and, despite his 'atrocious' results in the league (I suppose we should congratulate him for beating the other bottom feeder at home on saturday, breaking his 11 game losing streak), he has experimented with Base Offence in half of his games in the last 3 seasons and even had 1 game playing ISOs.

If I had..
I don't think anyone with almost all his key players on the wrong side of 30 should be commenting on other people's teams and tell them how they should be playing the game. Perhaps you should first look at your own team and get it right yourself before going out of your way like this.
