Agreed. Has the timeout threshold been changed? Seems I'm getting timed out after reading long threads in the forums this morning.

The same thing here, i would like to extend this topic to a problem today (server problem?), but in general to the time out threshold... i would like to be logged in all the day...

There are always tradeoffs between user security, user convenience, load balancing, and server performance when it comes to persisting sessions.

I'm with you, I'd rather be logged in once forever. Unless the "server performance" piece somehow comes into play if the current 15-minute timeout is pushed too much (which would be both unsurprising and disappointing), I'd like to see the timeout be significantly longer.
