I've just promoted to Div II, but the promotion bonus is still only 500k despite the announcement you've made 14 weeks ago that the promotion bonus will be increased starting with this season which has just begun.

For 500k, I get some boxes of beer, but no way a player that can start in DIV II...

My presumption on this is that the news came out during season 33 and that the changes regarding promotion bonuses were planned for "next season", which in this case is season 34, and therefore will apply to promotions earned this season. I certainly wouldn't mind being wrong, and neither would my bank account, but my guess is this is just a case of unclear wording rather than a bug.

Well, my understanding of the announcement is different:

We’re also planning a couple of changes next season which are worth mentioning now. The big one is that the promotion bonuses will be increased! We cannot disclose the exact numbers yet, but the new bonuses will help promoting teams survive in their new leagues.

You always get the promotion bonus in the season after you won the championship in your league. So if it was announced in season 33 that the promotion bonus will increase next season, my clear understanding is that it takes effect in this very new, just started season 34, means right now.

The idea behind this change is needed & very welcomed. To postpone it to season 35 would be a clear disadavantage to all teams which promoted now. The prices on the transfer market are absolutely insane and I bet that most teams are not be able to improve their roster significantly with the small amount of promotion bonus given right now.

The bonus increase will indeed happen during the next offseason, as it was intended. I'm sorry if the wording on the news post is misleading.

Thanks for the clarification Marin, but I'm not very happy with it. You should have announced it this season and not 14 weeks ago. The situation has a bit of an aftertaste, it feels a bit like being handled like a "second class citizen". I don't mean it offensively, it's just a feeling. So I appeal to you to implement the change now rather than in 14 weeks. This would be a smart move and a fair solution for all teams which promoted now and will do in the future.

And a big THANK YOU goes to you, Marin, for implementing the bonus increase earlier than it was originally intended. Great news for all teams which promoted this week! Thanks! (y)

Agreed. I am occasionally wrong and I have never been happier to be wrong.
