Chek: Some teams believe it is impossible for them to reach the NBBA because they did not start early enough. What would you say to them?

DH: First: So the f*** what? In most games you'll ever play, you're not going to beat the internet. Second: It doesn't seem correct. I think a very good new player could do it in 8 or 10, but it would require being good at the transfer market (which I think is boring). If anything, it's more possible now than it was in the past.

Chek: Are you a cat person or a dog person? Keep in mind hrudey may read this thread.

DH: I'm pretty much loyal to the dog I had growing up, and it's just so rare that I see dogs that at all compare. I had a very well trained bird dog as a companion that I had from 2nd - 12th grade. The process of growing up with a dog like that and getting her to intuitively take silent commands is something most people won't ever understand. Other people's yappy little shits are taco meat. Cats are mezmerizing to watch, especially if you have a really lethal one. But let's not pretend that conditioning a wild animal to hang out at your house is the same thing as having a pet. Pudgy indoor cats definitely suck, but so do the people who like them. But outdoor cats are an invasive species doing incalculable damage, and we'd be best off if they were treated as such.

Chek: If you could implement one change in BB, whether in the game or in the users, what would it be?

DH: BB has been trying to limit the damage done by the teams in small countries that are able to amass huge fortunes because of their lack of competition. I think it is hard to overstate the damage those teams do the game as a whole at all sorts of levels.

Big thank you to Demon Hoosiers! I for one wish that I had been able to find this game ten seasons before I did and get to witness the BuzzerBeater Big Bang. The BBBB if you will.

Anyway, rate like and subscribe etc. etc. Also tell me if you have an idea for the next interview. Thanks for tuning in!

This is my favorite episode thus far.
Really interesting to get the perspective from the ancient BB days.

2nd favorite episode! Hrudey's was my least favorite

I hate cats, my neighborhood is a breeding ground for wild stray cats. However, there was one cat I liked: growing up, my neighbor had a fat cat named Captain Hook. I loved that fat cat

Your series is a hit! Nice job with the interviews.

Were I still in II.4, FML radio would be in contention for a prestigious Hruddey L'ward: (251906.274)

Reminds me a little of this song:

He is a cat but he's very very fat
He is not just a standard cat
He is a cat but he's still very fat

That song was played on a loop for Cap'n Hook, aka 'The Fat Cat.' He would meow to it. He loved that song more than anything (other than eating or sleeping).

Cats are the most useless animals in the world, aloof and distant and they wreak havoc with my sinuses.

Thanks for finding me interesting, it's flattering. I'm often surprised by how good some people have become at this game. I think the game has sort of stumbled into what I think will be a fun era. With the transfer market so inflated, I think we're now at a time when it makes more sense than ever to train up our own recruits into starters. If I have one piece of advice for newer managers, it's to train 3 players until they are legit stars and bank as much money as you can during that process. Once those three are good enough to promote your team and to be starters at the next div up, make your push. Your first season or two in a higher division is your best shot at promoting again if you've got the cash to fill another 3 roster spots. Don't underestimate the importance of the 6th man at keeping your overall roster cost down. Almost all of my players can get comparable ratings at 3 positions. If you use that to cut one or two big salaries, you're going to beat most other teams over the long haul.
