this can be solved with a bit of scouting. if the opponent always plays his SG as PF/C you set your defense accordingly, there is an option to set your SG to attack as SG and defend as PF or C.

however, if SGs who play as PF/C are impossible to defend doesn't matter what you do because of their combination of skills, that's another story.

Obviously I'm not talking about situations where the opponent always plays his SG on PF/C position. I do scouting but I won't start guessing if he/she uses this tactic against me and in case if, I put my PG guard PF and SG to C.

Sometimes you cant actually predict your opponents line-up, even if your scouting skills are pretty much world renowned , there are scenarios that they will their SG in PF/C, or PG to SF/PF or bigs Going on smaller positions , it depends if he's training it or for other reasons . So this suggestion would be a great help also on countering your opponents offense and line-up , it would be more accurate , This player guarding this player , Superstar vs. Superstar . You have plenty of options , You can still let your player guard random players or key players on or off the court without some doubt of having Mismatch-ups .
