Last season's draft 18 year olds are going to need some major help to be of any use when they are 21.

For this season's draft coming up, it is going to be very important to train up the 19 year olds to help.

I agree with you on the idea that most dedicated Canadian managers should try to have at least one young (U21 potential) player being trained.....

Granted, I know i had a few seasons with poor draft luck and I also wasn't willing to spend too much money to buy a young player since i was trying to get to Naismith...but i was able to draft a decent guard a few seasons back and i think he should be on track to be U21 level by the time he is 21....

My time in Naismith may be ending potentially (hoping for some great games by my players to pull out 2 Wins) but regardless of that I'm hoping to get some top tier trainee in the draft that i could even train for U21 (maybe even national team)

BTW i've dumped quite abit of drafting points into this draft, and the 19yr olds seem to be pretty good so there could be some hope there to help out this seasons weak 18yr olds...that if the right managers happen to draft them.

I have found lots of 3-4 star potential 19 year old draftees!

I'm looking for a SF to train for U21, and possibly NT.

I believe that every team should at least train 1 player for their country, either U21 or NT. Also, we should do a better job with new managers and send them a bb-mail right away about how important U21/NT standings are and how beneficial training a player to the U21/NT is economy wise. I try to send a bb-mail to every new manager and I believe every manager should.

I'm hoping to pick up a stud in this draft. I did finish top-2 in the conference though, so I'm hoping my fellow league-mates didn't do as much scouting as I have this season. Wish me luck!

Hard to identify new managers when our GM isn't here anymore. Is an auto-welcome message generated by a Canadian manager now to new managers? Maybe BB-Ryan does?

So new Canadians are getting a message from a USA user probably. Is there a chance a new Canadian GM will be appointed anytime soon? It would make sense of community higher and ease the training/drafting issues raised earlier in the thread.

GMs aren't directly responsible for encouraging the growth of national teams and players. In that sense, the appointment of a Canadian GM wouldn't work the way you want it to anyway.


He could surely take it upon himself to help!

1) Send welcome message.
2) Scan roster for suitable U21/NT trainee.
3) Inform U21/NT coach.

That is far from a lot of legwork.
