He played 0 minutes rather then DNP so looks like he was on court less then a minute. Maybe an injury as soon as he got on court?

No I was online at some point during the game and checked it and he was healthy and just not playing. It's just really weird the coach played the other two backups but just refused with one.

It happens depending on:
1) stamina of the starter and backup
2) skill gap between starter and backup
3) substitution pattern chosen

When it happens the starter is usually significantly better than the backup and has high stamina.
