Their SSL Certification was expired and you were trying to use https (good on you). They have since updated the certification and there should be no issues until they again forget to update it in a years time

You're on the right track but not completely correct; I was working on the SSL certification issues and at some point our ad manager (banmanpro) has inadvertedly taken over the secure site!

An interesting thing to note, whether by intent or not, is that ads do not show on the https version of the site but do show in the http version when logged out. I'm unsure if this has something to do with my supporter and cookie somehow staying active since I never tested clearing them, but I figured I'd let you know.
