Magnificent write-up markus123. And, I might just have to agree with you on the prediction result....but I think only home court can keep my little battlers in the game and here's why :-

1. Your teams general ratings in the various areas show that you have the best allround team.....how you got done in the last regular season game is astounding (and gives me some blind hope lol) given the ratings for the game. I can't see your outside shooting being as bad as it was in our last game.

2. Yes, I noticed you have been planning. You must have played the last 6-8 games on TIE so I would imagine your players are VERY enthusiastic about our rematch. We, too, have TIE over the past few games but I have noticed my players aren't as enthusiastic as yours - I must improve my pep talks (let's hope they don't spot this negative sounding post lol).

I hope that, whichever team makes it to the big final series, they haven't shot their bolt too early.

It should be noted by the newer managers in our league that most of the players mentioned in your writeup were drafted last year....so all new managers should be bouyed by the upcoming draft. I fear drafting in last spot will not overly strengthen my squad(damn).

Good luck.

PS I noticed my attendance at the Q/F was down on our regular season game which seemed odd. Management of Downboys have lowered some prices for the big game to reward our fans for their loyalty...I hope we don't disappoint them too much lol

Has your team enthusiasm been dropping? I know there's decay, but it seems to have dropped 3 points down to 10 since the last week. I guess I'd be near the limit for TIE games which looks like something like 6-7 games.

Have you scouted any 5/5 players in the draft? I imagine they much be rare. I've only been scouting 3 a week and it seems to have given barely any info. Nothing that really fits into my training. Probably will just draft for best value and sell the player.

Yes, my team's enthusiasm has dropped too...was at 10...down to 8...so you will have the edge still in that department.

I did the same as you (3 players scouted per week) and had one guy scouted with 5/4 (best potential scouted was 4 with my scouting). Still not much info on over half the draft for me. And more than half scouted show 2 or less in skills. At our point (15th & 16th picks)in the draft we may struggle to get anything that will help our teams next season I fear. Will be interesting to see what ends up getting picked in our draft. I think our draft had 1 MVP, and 1 Superstar last year...not many above allstar if I remember rightly. But if the skills are 5* then they can make an immediate impact as we found out this season.

As you might guess (lol) with my proposed training of outside skills, I was hoping to grab someone of the calibre you got last season.....may have to concentrate on the 21year old I already have (which isn't perfect) and my SF prospect. To add insult to injury, the 5/4 man I scouted is, of course, classed as a Centre...which I don't really need. If I end up with him I may have to rethink my training plan.

PS I have had my final session with the team, followed by an inspiring (if I don't say so myself) speech. Obviously breaking the news to my unlucky 13th man that he can come to the stadium in his suit and tie was the hardest thing I have ever had to do....I suspect he may want to be traded post season.

Good Luck (Don't know whether to play golf or watch the match lol)

Now that was a classic match, the stamina training during the week was well worth it...

Yep - a match worthy of a final. A game of 2 halves....don't know what you said to them at half time but it did the trick. Your team dodged a couple of bullets at the end of regular time but that's basketball lol

Good luck in the Final.

PS I think Crunch Time means fouls!

Today's the day it looks like we wave farewell to the Canberra Crushers as they should take the title in straight sets.

Downboys enjoyed their clashes with the Crushers....all were very close (including a scrimmage) and I look forward to following their fortunes in the next grade. Hope there is a scrimmage or two in the coming seasons, although I would be happy to miss the lads in the Cup.

PS Don't take a MVP out of our draft or we will all be upset.

Cheers, hopefully your team will get promoted from the bot cleanup.

The draft was interesting picking so low. One superstar SG (oh yeah). Two average point guards (one who will be getting the boot). I think they may have toned down the player abilities from last season since it seems none of the players have salaries near what my draft picks had last year (~5k+) unless they haven't been updated yet.

Yep - I've gone up to Div II. Got a "star" SG...would have liked the "superstar".Haven't you got enough outside shooters lol Noticed there was 1 "MVP" in our draft. Have fired my final pick "Announcer" potential. My middle pick is a SF but will see if he can fit into my training scheme. Fired a PG that sat in my team last season as 13th man, and selling a SG that was never a starter but had a reasonable salary.

Should be an interesting season...with a few more decisions to make than last season. Economy may be a challenge this season so will have to watch it a bit more carefully.

Have a good season.
