I don't understand your post. What's real life? The fact that the champion picks last? You are right if that's what you mean, and I think in this case real life should be imitated by the champion picking last. If you mean it is real life that the team with the best regular-season record picks last you are wrong, at least in the case of American professional sports.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Draft orders in BB corresponds to team that has the best record in the regular season, it doesn't count playoffs standings in the positioning in the draft...

in short, if you have the best record in the regular season, even if you played poorly or didn't win a championship in the playoffs, you will draft last per round.

ummm...in the NBA the team with the best record picks last, not the champions.

2005 - San Antonio wins title - Phoenix wins regular season but holds last pick.
2006 - Miami wins title - Detroit wins regular season, and has last pick
2007 - San Antonio wins title - Dallas wins regular season, and has last pick
2008 - Boston wins both so certainly picks last

The NHL drafts as you say starting last year, and I think the nfl does too, but the nba goes by regular season standings.

But to me the draft should be like the pro drafts- with team finishing last picks first the the teamt that finishes first picks last in Round One. In Round Two, team that finished first should pick first and the team that finished last should pick last. Then again reverse the order

That's a snake-draft commonly used in fantasy leagues. In all real drafts I know of, the order remains the same in each round.
