This is an endemic problem.

There is no way to limit your starter's minutes. Your coach pays no attention to what's happening, merely to expected results. That is as it should be, because players don't get hot or cold within the game, their matchup ratings don't change. So the player not getting it done is still the better choice than a worse sub.

i just dont understand this..i often watch NBA, bench can have a huge impact on the game, but if my coach wont let the sub play is ridiculous..

That's beacuase in real basketball players can loose (or gain) confidence, consequentl y it can be a good idea to put in a worse sub because in that particlare game he is better then the starter, due to the starters lost confidence.

Now, a BB-play er can miss ten consecutive shots, but this will still no affect his confidence (a s this is not modelled in BB), therefore the likelihood that he will score on the next shot is still the same as before he missed, i.e. the starter is still bett er than the sub.
