1) How old is he? What is your training been/going to be?

2) Look on the TL using some of his parameters to find guys of similar skill and see what they are going for. You may have to say 'better than him, not as good as him' to find a price range.

3) see answer #1 above :)

4) At your level (same as mine) I think it is plausible to achieve both. Training=both money and improved play. For me my strategy starts with training, and expands from there. I also managed to scout alot ($) and increase my stadium. I did not, however manage to buy a big time player (level appropriate, of course). My training regime did turn some avg players into MVP candidates (again, lvl IV) which helped my get the #1 seed. For me, training is where it starts.

5) In my brief experience, it seems to be a buyers market early in the season, and a sellers market later. Just my observation.

There are many others here who know much more than I, but I thought I would respond as we are both in USA IV, and experience the same kinds of obstacles. Different ones in the upper levels I think.

About the beginning of the year being a buyers market--do a lot of people hold this same opinion?

I'm guessing this may be because of an influx of new/cut draft picks?

I cant say alot, but I have asked a couple veterans who agreed, and it seemed that way to me in season 7 as well. Overall, sure there a bargains throughout, maybe harder to find at times.

Uhm, yes.

Yes.

Top level draftees prizes are market within market anyway. For the rest it is a buyer market, for the top level I'm not sure.

Ok, thanks.

I was more worried about the players I wanted to sell. I guess I should sell the players I want to sell as soon as I am kicked out of the playoffs rather than wait until the beginning of the new year.

Might be a tad too late for top dollar. I noticed a bit of an overpriced TL frenzy leading up to the playoffs. I dont look at the million $ players though (yet). My observations are for the lower rent district :)

I'm with you. Shoot, I was trying to even make a tad bit of a profit off of guys I picked up for $1,000 during wee morning hours. I had quite a bit of success, but the ones that haven't sold already I may just fire. You win some and lose some I guess.
