Is there any way the GE logic can be improved so that the reserves won't end up closing games out? It's annoying and unrealistic.
What sort of situation? I don't watch all of my games, but my general impression is that starters will close a game out if it's tight (though maybe better 3-point shooters will come in if trying to catch up) and reserves will close a game out if it isn't close. Is that not happening?
Any sort of situation.
The way the GE works right now, the lineup resets to the starters in the beginning of each quarter. Given that those will rarely go the full 12 minutes no matter the stamina, this usually results in the starting lineup being pulled at about the 8-10 minute mark, to be reinserted with a minute or two left in the quarter.
This is not the way games are coached, and lets you potentially exposed with your scrubs during a key stretch when the game is being decided. In most NBA games you'll see the second units start the fourth (or the second, for that matter) quarter, and get pulled anywhere between 2 and 6 minute mark so that the rested starters can finish the game.
