I don't really agree that the top of the key is the best place to run an isolation play. I think that, in general, isolation is run from one of the two wing spots so that the player has more of the court to work with. Iverson's offense was never isolation, it was just The Answer going 1-on-5. Don't know about Lebron. Haven't seen him play yet.
